Reid Maclean and Lee Kizer formed the group on Martha’s Vineyard.  The original lineup for the band included Colin McGrath on guitar and Sasha Greenawalt on bass.  Ted Graffam recorded the first album, Spinach, in Studio B, Wheaton, IL.  Sulo Williams joined on drums for the studio sessions in New Jersey as well as the first East Coast tour.  Ted recorded demo sessions in upstate New York  with Reid, Lee, Colin, Sasha and Mark Popadic on drums.  Brooks Williams brought the band into the studio in Massachusetts to produce Groove Like Corduroy.   Paul Phillips (bass), Stein Malvey (lead guitar) and Greg Beyer (drums) joined the tour supporting Groove playing a monthly gig at The Bitter End in New York City.  The band also joined Tom Conlon on an East Coast tour.  The band moved north of Boston and lived with a recording studio in-house to work on The Inevitable Movement Onward (featuring Tom Conlon, Scott Bryant, Andy Kalt)  They got to work with Dan Russell and the legacy of Mark Heard’s studio.

They returned to New York City and played regularly with a show at the Bottom Line.  In the Fall of 2001, TIMO, was completed and Reid and Lee did smaller tours with Paul to support the album.  Since 2003, many of the musicians above have been working on projects of their own, touring and recording.  Reid and Lee had a reunion concert in New York City in July 2008.
